HSE University presented a report on the dynamics of AI usage in Russia

The Institute of Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge of the HSE University has published the results of a comprehensive analysis of interest in artificial intelligence technologies in Russia for the period from 2022 to 2026. The study is based on data from Yandex Wordstat, VCIOM monitoring and Mediascope Cross Web media metrics.
The authors of the study evaluated the level of technology penetration through four key indicators: general awareness of the population, dynamics of search queries, accumulated experience of interaction with generative models and frequency of their regular use. The analysis covers both anonymized data from telecom operators and internal product metrics of Russian AI services.
The results of the study record a qualitative transition of the market: the country has overcome the phase of primary acquaintance with the technology and moved to the stage of mass practical implementation. Statistics confirm that generative tools have ceased to be a niche product and have become part of the daily digital habits of a significant proportion of users.
The data show that the growth of interest has stopped being linear and now correlates with the availability of local solutions. The inclusion of indicators from digital platforms in the report allows us to assess the real scale of using AI tools in business processes and private life, which gives an objective picture of the digital transformation of the economy in current conditions.
