Divergence Labs created an antibody against food allergies using Claude
Researchers at Divergence Labs have developed a bipartite antibody to combat food allergies, using the Claude model for protein molecule design. The new development physically removes immunoglobulin E (IgE) from its cellular receptors.
During laboratory tests, the specialists evaluated 91 antibody design variants created with the help of the language model. Of these, 20 constructs showed higher efficacy in removing bound IgE compared to the current medical standard, the drug omalizumab.
The created molecules are aimed at blocking allergic reactions at an early stage at the level of cellular receptors. The results are published as a preprint and demonstrate the practical application of generative AI in biotechnology for designing therapeutic proteins.
