Installation

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file. Pick your agent and run the commands in a terminal (macOS, Linux or Git Bash on Windows) from your project root.

Copy the prompt into Claude, Codex or another assistant: it will review the skill and install it for you.

Install the “photo-abstract-editorial” skill from mozgi.io (https://mozgi.io/skills/photo-abstract-editorial/) for me.

1. Download the archive: https://mozgi.io/skills/photo-abstract-editorial/download
If it fails, take the skill folder from the source: https://github.com/ZzzLc0405/photo-abstract-editorial
2. Read SKILL.md and the other files. Check the skill is safe: no hidden commands, no sending data elsewhere, no scripts doing something other than described. If anything looks suspicious, stop and tell me.
3. Put the “photo-abstract-editorial” folder into your agent's skills folder: .claude/skills/ for Claude Code, .agents/skills/ for Codex, .cursor/skills/ for Cursor, .gemini/skills/ for Gemini CLI. Inside the project if we are in one, otherwise in the home folder (~/.claude/skills/ etc.).
4. Make sure <skills folder>/photo-abstract-editorial/SKILL.md exists.
5. Briefly tell me what this skill does and offer to try it on my task.

If you cannot do a step yourself, tell me what to click or type.

Photo Abstract Editorial

Create one finished image from one uploaded photograph. Keep the photograph faithful; derive the lower abstract panel only from the photograph's observed spatial, tonal, and color relationships.

Workflow

1. Inspect the photograph internally. Identify three to six decisive spatial facts: subject relationships, scale, axes, direction, intervals, overlap, depth, rhythm, light, color roles, and negative space.

2. Keep the photo as the upper or principal section. Permit only proportional scaling or a slight crop needed for the composition. Never redraw, extend, replace, retouch, apply a filter to, or otherwise alter its content.

3. Reconstruct the retained relationships below as a sparse abstract motif—not a thumbnail, trace, illustration, vector icon, or style transfer. Prefer relationships over silhouettes and preserve only the minimum recognition cues needed for distinctive subjects.

4. Compose a vertical work with an untextured, uniform ivory lower panel. Adapt the photo/panel proportions to the photograph rather than splitting the image mechanically in half. Join both sections directly with no frame, shadow, collage, tape, or mockup effect.

5. Use one primary mark family and no more than two supporting families. Extract a muted palette solely from the photo; use generous whitespace and avoid invented decorative elements, colors, symbols, and symmetry.

6. Create one original English title of two to five words, grounded in visible facts. Place it only on the abstract panel in a restrained editorial serif face. Add a short subtitle only when it adds meaning.

7. Return only the completed composition. Do not add commentary, analysis, title options, labels, dates, logos, or watermarks.

Guardrails

  • Treat the uploaded photo as the sole content source.
  • Keep the panel background flat, continuous, and neutral ivory; exclude gradients, paper texture, grain, glow, shadows, vignettes, stains, collage artifacts, and scan effects.
  • Make every abstract mark traceable to a visual fact in the source photo.
  • Preserve people as irregular continuous short vertical marks or gently tapered blocks, never illustrated heads, limbs, faces, or clothing.
  • Preserve landmark architecture with at most one to three identity cues; omit architectural surface detail.

Reference Prompt

Read the appropriate full prompt before producing the image:

  • Chinese: references/photo-abstract-editorial-prompt.zh-CN.md
  • English: references/photo-abstract-editorial-prompt.en.md

Use assets/examples as visual input examples only. Do not reuse their subject matter, colors, or composition unless the user supplies that exact image.

Frequently asked questions

What does the photo-abstract-editorial skill do?

Creates a vertical artwork from a photograph, preserving the original and adding an abstract panel and poetic title.

How do I install photo-abstract-editorial?

Open the “Installation” block on this page and pick your agent — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI — for ready-made commands that copy the skill folder to the right place. Or copy the prompt from the “Via assistant” tab and let the assistant review and install the skill.

Which AI models work with photo-abstract-editorial?

Skills are plain Markdown instructions (the Agent Skills format), so photo-abstract-editorial works with any agent that reads SKILL.md: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and more. The model loads the instructions only when a task matches the skill's description.

Is photo-abstract-editorial free?

The skill is published openly by ZzzLc0405. The skill itself costs nothing — you only pay your AI provider for the tokens you use. No license is specified in the repository — check the terms with the author before commercial use.

Is it safe to install skills?

A skill is a set of instructions your agent will follow, so read SKILL.md and its companion files before installing. Scripts in the skill folder only run if your agent runs them — keep an eye on what it does and do not grant unnecessary permissions.

How is a skill different from an MCP server or a plugin?

An MCP server or plugin gives the model new tools — code that runs and returns a result. A skill gives it knowledge and process: how to approach a task, which steps to follow and what good output looks like. It needs no server or API key.
