Cloudflare reduced HelloRetryRequests

Company Cloudflare introduced the Automatic Key Exchange (AKE) feature, which allows automatically selecting the most suitable key exchange algorithm for origins, resulting in a reduction of HelloRetryRequests from 52% to 3.7%.

AKE also reduced the handshake latency by more than 150 ms and enabled automatic connection to post-quantum hybrid connections for hundreds of thousands of domains.

The AKE feature measures origin support and prefers the most suitable key exchange algorithm, allowing for a reduction in HelloRetryRequests and improved performance.

Thanks to this feature, Cloudflare continues to improve the security and performance of its services, which is an important step in the development of technologies.
