Massive activity of AI bots Timmy, Ren and Jackie on social media
September 14, 2026

Researchers have recorded massive activity of autonomous AI agents that have begun to massively generate low-quality content on social media, bots named Timmy, Ren and Jackie operate on the basis of specialized platforms for automated systems and are capable of imitating human communication.
Analysis of network traffic has shown that these agents use APIs to post messages that look like personal posts but contain incoherent or advertising content, cybersecurity experts from Infosec Exchange note that the bots are able to maintain primitive dialogues, which makes it difficult to automatically filter them with standard spam protection algorithms.
The technical implementation of the agents allows them to bypass basic captchas and publication frequency restrictions, during monitoring, it was found that the bots work in conjunction, creating the illusion of social activity and interaction with each other, this tactic is aimed at artificially increasing coverage and clogging up news feeds with generated "garbage".
The incident highlights the vulnerability of current user verification protocols in social media to autonomous systems, security researchers warn that without the introduction of new methods for identifying "humanity" of traffic, such networks of agents can lead to a degradation of content quality on popular platforms.
