Google has added document generation and editing to Gemini

Google has added built-in features for creating, previewing, and editing files directly within Gemini chats. The update unlocks new possibilities for working with text and office formats without the need to switch between tabs.

Users can now generate and edit Google Docs documents, Google Sheets spreadsheets, presentations, as well as files in PDF, Markdown, TXT formats, and raw code. Previewing and editing PDF files is available on both the web version and mobile devices.

Support for other file formats is currently implemented only for the desktop version of the service. The new tools are now available to all chatbot users without any additional settings.

The integration allows for immediate refinement of content in the company's familiar office applications directly from the conversation with the assistant.
