Trump has declared robot imports a national security threat

The US President has officially declared the import of foreign industrial robots a threat to the country's national security. The head of state has ordered the start of trade negotiations concerning foreign automated systems for factories.
As part of the new executive order, the US administration is considering the possibility of imposing strict import tariffs on robotics, industrial equipment, as well as key components and parts for them.
The decision is aimed at protecting the American manufacturing sector and stimulating domestic production of robotic equipment against the backdrop of large-scale automation implementation at the plants of major corporations.
The new policy could significantly change supply chains for automotive concerns and industrial enterprises that use foreign automated lines.
