November 6, 2026

In the morning, a group of activists entered the construction site of a new Microsoft data center in Amsterdam. The action was organized by the Geef Tegengas movement in protest against the construction of large-scale facilities.
According to Reuters, about 100 people took part in the unauthorized entry onto the site. The protesters opposed the construction of three 85-meter data center towers on the outskirts of the city.
Such incidents highlight the growing tension between local communities, environmental activists, and tech giants amid a sharp increase in energy consumption and infrastructure expansion for artificial intelligence needs.
