Anthropic's pre-IPO valuation has dropped to $1.3 trillion
Developer Anthropic has adjusted its valuation expectations in preparation for its public offering. Negotiations with major investors are now taking place in the range of $1.2 to $1.3 trillion, down from the previously planned $2 trillion, with some buyers expecting the valuation to drop to $1.1 trillion.
The adjustment comes amid general market volatility and a recent downturn in the artificial intelligence market. According to data from the S-1 filing, the company's financial performance reflects massive infrastructure investments: commitments to purchase computing power have reached $895 billion.
The same financial report recorded the company's quarterly revenue at $17 billion. Meanwhile, losses for the same period amounted to $23 billion.
The changes in valuation reflect a reassessment of risks by major investors against the backdrop of record spending by AI labs on hardware and data center infrastructure. Discussions regarding IPO details are ongoing amidst market fluctuations.
