Installation
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file. Pick your agent and run the commands in a terminal (macOS, Linux or Git Bash on Windows) from your project root.
Copy the prompt into Claude, Codex or another assistant: it will review the skill and install it for you.
Install the “gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling” skill from mozgi.io (https://mozgi.io/skills/mengto-gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling/) for me. 1. Download the archive: https://mozgi.io/skills/mengto-gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling/download If it fails, take the skill folder from the source: https://github.com/MengTo/Skills/tree/main/agent-skills/web-design/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling 2. Read SKILL.md and the other files. Check the skill is safe: no hidden commands, no sending data elsewhere, no scripts doing something other than described. If anything looks suspicious, stop and tell me. 3. Put the “gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling” folder into your agent's skills folder: .claude/skills/ for Claude Code, .agents/skills/ for Codex, .cursor/skills/ for Cursor, .gemini/skills/ for Gemini CLI. Inside the project if we are in one, otherwise in the home folder (~/.claude/skills/ etc.). 4. Make sure <skills folder>/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling/SKILL.md exists. 5. Briefly tell me what this skill does and offer to try it on my task. If you cannot do a step yourself, tell me what to click or type.
git clone --depth 1 --branch main https://github.com/MengTo/Skills.git /tmp/Skills mkdir -p .claude/skills cp -r /tmp/Skills/agent-skills/web-design/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling .claude/skills/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling
Restart Claude Code — the skill appears in the list; call it manually with /gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling. For all projects use ~/.claude/skills.
git clone --depth 1 --branch main https://github.com/MengTo/Skills.git /tmp/Skills mkdir -p .agents/skills cp -r /tmp/Skills/agent-skills/web-design/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling .agents/skills/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling
Codex looks for skills in .agents/skills from the current folder up to the repo root; call one with /skills or $gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling. For all projects use ~/.agents/skills.
git clone --depth 1 --branch main https://github.com/MengTo/Skills.git /tmp/Skills mkdir -p .cursor/skills cp -r /tmp/Skills/agent-skills/web-design/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling .cursor/skills/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling
Cursor picks the skill up on start; call it with “/” in Agent chat. Cursor also reads .claude/skills and .agents/skills. For all projects use ~/.cursor/skills.
git clone --depth 1 --branch main https://github.com/MengTo/Skills.git /tmp/Skills mkdir -p .gemini/skills cp -r /tmp/Skills/agent-skills/web-design/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling .gemini/skills/gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling
Gemini CLI offers to activate the skill when a task matches — you approve it. For all projects use ~/.gemini/skills.

Use When
- Build cinematic sticky product storytelling with GSAP ScrollTrigger, progressive UI reveals, scroll-synced animation, smooth interpolation, and immersive section transitions.
Workflow
Scope
- Apply this when the page should feel like a scroll-driven product story rather than a static marketing layout.
- Use GSAP ScrollTrigger as the main choreography layer for sticky sections, progressive interface reveals, pinned scenes, scrubbed timelines, and immersive transitions between sections.
- Preserve the actual product narrative and interface clarity. The motion should amplify comprehension, not hide basic content behind theatrical effects.
Experience target
- Create sticky product storytelling where each scroll segment reveals a new product state, feature layer, data view, device frame, or workflow step.
- Use scroll-synced animation so copy, UI panels, screenshots, overlays, and background atmosphere move together as one authored sequence.
- Build progressive UI reveals: draw in frames, fade in controls, slide panels into place, count values up, highlight regions, and swap states as the user advances.
- Keep the overall mood cinematic, premium, and immersive with controlled pacing, clean staging, depth, and transitions that feel intentional.
Implementation guidance
- Use GSAP timelines with ScrollTrigger
scrubfor the main scroll narrative and regular tweens only for supporting entrance or hover motion. - Pin long-form story sections with
pin: trueand map each scene to explicit timeline labels so the sequence is easy to tune. - Prefer transform and opacity animation over layout-affecting properties. Use
will-changesparingly on animated elements that actually need it. - Use
gsap.context()in React components and clean it up on unmount so ScrollTriggers are killed correctly. - Refresh ScrollTrigger after images, fonts, or async content load if those assets affect section height or pinned offsets.
- Use
matchMedia()or equivalent breakpoints so desktop sticky choreography can simplify gracefully on smaller screens.
Motion patterns
- Sticky product frame: keep the main artifact pinned while the surrounding narrative updates in measured steps.
- Layer reveal: bring labels, overlays, panels, and product states in one at a time with short offsets and a shared easing language.
- Section handoff: let the current scene scale, mask, blur, or translate into the next section instead of ending abruptly.
- Smooth interpolation: use scrub smoothing, quickSetter/quickTo, or lerped values for pointer-following and scroll-reactive details.
- Cinematic depth: use foreground/background parallax, subtle camera moves, dimming layers, masks, and focus shifts without overwhelming readability.
Tuning knobs
- Pin duration: extend for dense product stories, shorten when the scene has only one or two state changes.
- Scrub feel: use direct scrub for precise technical walkthroughs and eased scrub for a more cinematic product film feel.
- Reveal density: add more micro-reveals for complex UI, reduce them for narrative sections where copy needs to carry the moment.
- Transition intensity: keep high-impact transitions reserved for section handoffs, not every small content change.
Avoid
- Triggering unrelated animations on every scroll tick without a clear story beat.
- Using sticky/pinned sections that trap the reader for too long or make the page feel broken.
- Animating width, height, top, left, or layout-heavy properties during scrubbed scenes when transforms can do the job.
- Letting cinematic effects reduce text contrast, cover CTAs, or obscure the product UI the section is meant to explain.
- Leaving ScrollTriggers alive after component unmounts or route changes.
Frequently asked questions
What does the gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling skill do?
Use when building scroll-based storytelling sections with GSAP ScrollTrigger.
How do I install gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling?
Open the “Installation” block on this page and pick your agent — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI — for ready-made commands that copy the skill folder to the right place. Or copy the prompt from the “Via assistant” tab and let the assistant review and install the skill.
Which AI models work with gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling?
Skills are plain Markdown instructions (the Agent Skills format), so gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling works with any agent that reads SKILL.md: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and more. The model loads the instructions only when a task matches the skill's description.
Is gsap-scrolltrigger-storytelling free?
The skill is published openly by MengTo under the MIT license. The skill itself costs nothing — you only pay your AI provider for the tokens you use.
Is it safe to install skills?
A skill is a set of instructions your agent will follow, so read SKILL.md and its companion files before installing. Scripts in the skill folder only run if your agent runs them — keep an eye on what it does and do not grant unnecessary permissions.
How is a skill different from an MCP server or a plugin?
An MCP server or plugin gives the model new tools — code that runs and returns a result. A skill gives it knowledge and process: how to approach a task, which steps to follow and what good output looks like. It needs no server or API key.
