Google engineer refused to work on Cloud TPUs

Engineer at Google Yair Halberstadt refused to work on Cloud TPUs due to concerns about existential risks, he believes that improving the platform accelerates training of cutting-edge models without any safety benefits.

Halberstadt received 165 points for 22 hours and is currently looking for alternative roles.

He published his statement on the LessWrong website.
