Anthropic spends more on internal AI than on salaries

The company Anthropic has found that the costs of its own development and operation of language models, at retail prices, have exceeded the total amount paid in employee salaries. This was revealed by internal company data.

According to the report, the scale of AI usage within the organization has reached record levels. In particular, the Claude assistant is used to write 90% of all new software code at the company.

Such infrastructure expenses reflect the colossal costs leading developers face for autonomous code generation and maintaining massive computing power for their own engineering tasks.
