Apple has allowed Siri AI to control third-party apps
November 3, 2026

Apple has given developers the ability to integrate Siri AI capabilities into all third-party applications. The update is part of the iOS 27.3 release, which began rolling out on Tuesday.
The new toolkit allows the voice assistant to rely on the user's personal context, process natural language requests, and utilize screen awareness features. Developers can use the documentation and preview to set up new interaction scenarios via App Intents.
These changes allow users to perform complex cross-app actions using voice commands. The integration blurs the lines between standard ecosystem programs and third-party software.
