AT&T has integrated Gemini for Home into its Connected Life security system

AT&T has announced the integration of its Connected Life platform with the Gemini for Home service. This solution is the first in the home security segment to receive support for Google Home Premium features powered by generative models.

The update allows users to leverage AI to analyze events occurring in the home. The system can automatically generate text summaries of activity captured by cameras and perform searches through video history using natural language. For example, an owner can request a search for specific events, such as "who came to the door this morning" or "was there any movement in the garage after midnight."

The integration operates within the Google ecosystem, ensuring real-time data processing. The functionality is available to subscribers of eligible Connected Life plans using compatible monitoring equipment.

For users, this means a shift from watching hours of camera footage to direct interaction with the archive via queries. The AI takes on the task of filtering the video stream, highlighting only significant incidents, which reduces the time spent checking the security of the property.
