Anthropic has added a personal finance analysis tool to Claude

The company Anthropic has introduced a new Personal Finance feature that allows users of the Claude chatbot to analyze their expenses and income. The tool integrates with bank accounts and cards via the Plaid platform, providing the neural network with direct access to financial data for processing.

Once accounts are connected, users can ask the model questions about their spending patterns, balance trends, and other financial metrics. The system automatically categorizes transactions and provides analytical reports based on data obtained through a secure connection. Using Plaid allows for support across a wide range of financial institutions, ensuring authorized access to transaction history.

This new functionality shifts Claude from a text-based assistant to a personal financial management tool. Users no longer need to manually export reports or use third-party spreadsheets for basic budget analysis—the model can now interpret bank statements independently and answer queries about personal financial status in real time.
