Developers introduced Amagine3D for creating CAD models via AI

The development team has released Amagine3D — an open-source tool for automated design of equipment enclosures. The system converts text descriptions, images, and specified dimensions into editable 3D models.
The tool is focused on creating hardware enclosures and supports export in STEP, STL, and 3MF formats. A distinctive feature of the architecture is the preservation of the source code in Python, which allows users to make edits to the generated geometry at the software level after the AI has finished working.
The project has gained 4.9 thousand stars on GitHub in the first 648 hours after publication. The source code is available for local deployment, providing full control over the design process without the need to use cloud-based CAD platforms.
Using a parametric approach in combination with generative models allows for a reduction in the time it takes to create prototype enclosures. Integration with Python scripts enables the automation of complex geometric shapes that require precise engineering calculations and adherence to specified dimensions.
The solution is aimed at engineers and hardware developers who require rapid iteration of enclosures. The ability to directly edit the code underlying the model distinguishes this tool from standard 3D object generators, which usually only output a final mesh without the possibility of parametric adjustment.
