Rapiddweller released the Datamimic engine for generating test data

Company Rapiddweller introduced Datamimic — a specialized engine for creating synthetic data, designed for use in regulated industries. The tool allows automating the preparation of test environments, excluding the use of real confidential data when developing and testing AI agents.
The system's functionality includes generating synthetic data sets, as well as tools for pseudonymizing personal information (PII). The solution's architecture supports performing operations in multiple systems simultaneously, ensuring data consistency when testing complex software complexes.
Interaction with the engine is implemented through Python CLI, which allows integrating data generation directly into CI/CD pipelines. To expand the capabilities of interaction with AI agents, an optional MCP adapter (Model Context Protocol) is provided, which simplifies connecting Datamimic to various LLM frameworks.
Using synthetic data allows developers to avoid security issues when training or debugging models on sensitive information. The tool is focused on the corporate sector, where compliance and data protection requirements limit access to real databases during development.
The project is published with open source code, allowing companies to deploy their own data generation infrastructure within their own security contours. Details of the implementation and technical documentation are available in the project repository.
