Thruwire introduced the Foreman runtime environment for controlling AI coding

Thruwire company released Foreman — an asynchronous execution environment on Python language, designed for automated control over AI-agents work. The tool acts as a supervisor that tracks task execution in real-time mode.

The system's operation is based on integration with Jev engine from TypeSafe AI. Foreman analyzes the workflow state, evaluating metrics such as code implementation completeness and agent hang status. Based on the received data, the system decides to continue task execution, forcibly stop it, or launch a written code verification procedure.

The tool is focused on working with coding models, in particular with Codex. Using Foreman allows automating the quality control cycle without human involvement, minimizing the number of erroneous or incomplete commits during development. The solution is distributed as an open-source project with open source code.

Implementation of such supervision systems becomes a necessary step when transitioning to autonomous AI-developers. Automation of intermediate results evaluation allows reducing token costs for executing inefficient iterations and increasing the overall reliability of code generation in complex software projects.
