Anthropic added support for AGENTS.md in Claude Code

Company Anthropic released an update for its Claude Code tool version 2.1.277. The main change was the support for the AGENTS.md file, which can now be used to configure the behavior of agents in the development environment.
The new feature allows the system to automatically read instructions from the AGENTS.md file in cases where the standard CLAUDE.md file is missing from the project. This gives developers more flexibility in defining specific rules and roles for automated assistants within specific repositories.
To activate the feature, a special switch is provided in the configuration file. Users can configure the tool's behavior through the /config section, which allows managing the reading priorities of configuration files depending on the project structure.
The introduction of AGENTS.md support simplifies the integration of AI agents into complex workflows where instruction separation is required for different task types. The update is already available for installation through the standard Claude Code package manager.
