Apple updated the instructions for disabling Apple Intelligence features on macOS
Company Apple has published an updated guide to managing access to Apple Intelligence features on Mac computers. Users have been given the ability to completely deactivate neural network tools through system settings.
To disable the features, you need to go to the "System Settings" section, select the "Apple Intelligence and Siri" tab and switch the corresponding switch to the inactive state. This procedure allows you to limit the work of generative models built into the operating system and prevent background data processing by local algorithms.
The instructions also describe methods for restricting access for corporate environments and system administrators. In particular, it is possible to block the use of AI functions through MDM (Mobile Device Management) configuration profiles, which is relevant for organizations with strict requirements for data confidentiality and workstation security.
The update to the documentation followed an active discussion on the Hacker News platform, where users were interested in ways to control resource-intensive neural network processes. Apple continues to expand management tools to ensure transparency of its intelligent systems on devices with Apple Silicon chips.
